Mold Damage – Concord Attic
Mold damage struck this Concord attic due to the exterior trim of the home allowing moisture to wick into the fascia board. The moisture and darkness had spawned a significant patch of black mold that had spread to some of the homeowner's boxed possessions. We removed the damaged contents from the attic for restoration where possible. The homeowners requested that SERVPRO of Concord use a minimally invasive method of cleaning up the mold infestation. Our applied microbial remediation technicians chose to blast the mold colonies with pressurized dry ice pellets. This method employs an abrasive technique which removes the mold from its roots and only skims the surface off of the affected wood leaving only unfinished sheathing and rafters behind. Then an antifungal agent would be applied to finish the project.
